近畿大学奈良キャンパスで14日に開催された日本家政学会関西支部第45回研究発表会で、生活環境学研究科生活環境学専攻（澤渡研究室）の老家初果さんが若手優秀発表賞を受賞しました。
老家初果さんの研究発表は、「着るナタデココ 3種の食用オイルによるバクテリアセルロースのレザーライク化」。食品として知られるナタデココを培養し，オイル処理と乾燥を経て皮革に似た衣料素材を得るための条件検討を行ったものです。
この研究発表会では例年、各発表会場から1件の優秀賞が選ばれます。本年度は3会場が設けられ、3人が優秀賞を受賞しました。

Ms. Uika Oie, a first-year student in Sawatari Laboratory, Human Environmental Sciences Major, Graduate School of Human Environmental Sciences, received the Young Scientist Excellence Presentation Award at the 45th Research Presentation Meeting of the Kansai Branch of the Japan Society of Home Economics held at Nara Campus of Kinki University on October 14th.
Ms. Oie's research presentation was entitled "Leatherlike Bacterial Cellulose with Three Kinds of Edible Oils Clothed in Nata de Coco". She cultivated nata de coco, which is known as a functional product, and investigated the conditions to obtain a clothing material similar to leather through oil treatment and desiccation.
At this research presentation meeting, one excellence award is usually selected from each presentation site. This year, there were three sites and three winners of the Excellence Award.
