荒井祭里さんがパリオリンピック内定の権利を得ました。

健康・スポーツ科学科4年の荒井祭里さんが、福岡市で行われている世界選手権水泳競技大会で19日、女子高飛び込み決勝に出場して11位となり、来年のパリオリンピック代表内定の権利を得ました。荒井さんは2020東京オリンピックで女子シンクロ高飛び込みで6位入賞を果たしており、オリンピック2大会連続出場となります。

荒井さんは、18日に行われた準決勝を7位で通過し、決勝に進んでいました。

荒井さんは『今回の試合では決勝に残ることができ、パリオリンピック内定の権利を得られて大変嬉しく思います。まだまだ今シーズンの試合は続くので調子を上げていきたいと思います』と話しています。

 

Fourth-year Health and Sports Science student Masuri Arai competed in the women's high dive final at the World Aquatics Championships in Fukuoka City on 19th of June, finishing 11th, earning her the right to represent Japan at next year's Paris Olympics. Ms. Arai finished 6th in the women's synchronized high dive at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and will compete in her second consecutive Olympic Games.

Ms. Arai had advanced to the final after finishing seventh in the semi-finals on 18th of June.

Ms. Arai stated: “I am extremely pleased to have been able to stay in the finals this time and to have earned the right to be given a conditional offer to the Paris Olympics Games. I still have a lot of competition left in this season and I hope to improve my performance.”
