＜日本語/English＞ニューヨーク大学のダマスト教授が来日し、本学のダンス部と合宿をしました。

ニューヨーク大学ステインハード校ダンス教育プログラム主任、芸術顧問のダマスト教授が来日し、本学ダンス部と3月22日から25日まで丹嶺学苑研修センターでの合宿に参加しました。ダマスト教授は、自身のモダン/コンテンポラリーダンスの代表作「Apart/A part」についての指導を行いました。「Apart/A part」は、コミュニティーの中の個人、そして多様性がテーマの作品。学生は、ダマスト教授によるステージング（ダンサーを配置して、役を振り分ける作業）や振りなどの所作についての指導を受けました。

 

ダマスト教授は、「4日間の合宿を経て、作品はみなさんのものになりました。上演の成果を楽しみにしています。」とコメント。その後、本学附属中学校・高等学校の生徒にもダンス・レッスンを行い、関西地区のダンス教師らとも交流を行いました。

 

Professor Damast from New York University visited Japan and held a camp with MWU’s dance club.

 

Professor Damast, Director of the Dance Education Program and Artistic Advisor at New York University's Steinhardt School of Dance, visited Japan to participate in a training camp at the Tanrei-Gakuen Training Center from March 22 to 25 with our Dance Department. Professor Damast gave instruction on her modern/contemporary dance masterpiece "Apart/A part". The piece is based on the theme of the individual and diversity within a community. The students were instructed by Professor Damast on staging (placing dancers and assigning roles), choreography, and other dance moves.

 

Professor Damast said, "After four days of camp, the work is now yours. I look forward to seeing the results of the performance." She then gave a dance lesson to the students of the junior high and high schools affiliated with the university.
